(New York, NY) — What is going on at Origins High school in Brooklyn? On Monday, a history teacher told reporters that students at the Sheepshead Bay school called her a dirty Jew and threatened her life. Today we are hearing from a Muslim teacher who says she is being harassed too. Kamilla Shulanova says she has reported a number on anti-Muslim and anti-Jewish incidents to school leaders, but nothing has been done to punish the students involved.
History teacher Danielle Kaminsky, who is Jewish says the school has done little to make her feel safe. She says students have drawn swastikas on her desk, and have left threatening notes on her door. Kaminsky say school leaders and the Department of Education have not addressed the threats or actions against her. She says a few Jewish students who attended the high school left after they were harassed. The Acting Principal, Dara Kammerman released a statement claiming Orgins High does not tolerate any form of discrimination. But some students say she has lost control.
