(Rome) – The Vatican has announced that Pope Francis visited a hospital in Rome on Wednesday. This followed news that he had skipped a reading at his general audience. No further announcements were made officially, but Answer News agency reports this was a scheduled visit.
This past weekend the Vatican had said the Pontiff was dealing with flu-like symptoms. At 87-years-old, Pope Francis has spent time in the hospital over the past few years for various health issues.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis has revealed his monthly prayer intention as the calendar soon moves to March. Throughout February, the monthly prayer intention centered on people who are terminally ill, as long as their families. March’s focus will be the “martyrs of our day.” Pope Francis says there will always be martyrs among us.
