(New York, NY) — The Port Authority will hold a memorial Mass in Lower Manhattan Monday morning to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Six people and an unborn child were killed when a truck bomb was detonated in a parking garage below the North Tower of the World Trade Center on February 26th 1993. Four Port Authority employees were among the dead, including a pregnant secretary scheduled to begin maternity leave the next day. More than one-thousand others were injured in the attack.
The New York City’s Joint Terrorism Task Force worked along with hundreds of FBI agents to track down some of the Islamic extremist terrorists behind the attacks. Four that were arrested were each sentenced to 240 years in prison.
