(Cairo) — Egypt appears to be setting up a refugee shelter near the Gaza border in case Israel invades the southern city of Rafah. Egypt has denied preparing for refugees in the Sinai Peninsula, but sources tell Reuters that an area is being prepped near Gaza that would have basic facilities to accommodate Palestinians in case an Israeli offensive drives them over the border seeking sanctuary. Israel has said it was planning to take out the “last bastion” of Hamas militants hiding in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians have evacuated to in an attempt to escape bombing in other parts of the Gaza Strip.
