WASHINGTON, DC – The Supreme Court may be leaning not to disqualify former President Trump from the primary ballot. The high court listened to arguments on Thursday over whether Colorado can remove Trump from its primary ballot. The audio from the hearings was carried by the cable news networks. Eleven other states are also looking to keep Trump off the ballot.
The case is based on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which bars officials who have sworn to support the Constitution from serving in government if they engage in insurrection.
Several members of the court questioned the scope of Section 3. A decision is expected before the March 5th Super Tuesday primaries.
Trump said he thought his attorneys made a very good case.
