(Tel Aviv, Israel) –United Nations agencies say Gaza’s entire population is at “imminent risk of famine” as war rages between Israel and Hamas. The report published yesterday says relentless attacks from both sides have left over half-a-million people starving in Gaza, where not enough food has been allowed to enter. It claims 26-percent of those living in the Gaza Strip have exhausted their food supply, and that the extent of hunger is now worse than the recent near-famines in Afghanistan and Yemen. The Hamas run Health Ministry claims 20-thousand people have been killed in Gaza during the war that began back in October.
Israeli leaders say aid could get into Gaza, if Hamas agrees to release the hostages they took from Israel during it’s invasion and massacre on October 7th. Israeli lawmakers says they are ready to agree to a temporary ceasefire to help drive aid in.
