(Russia) – A Moscow court has extended the pre-trial detention of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, after he was accused of spying by the Russian government. He was first taken into custody back in March. Gershkovich previously graduated from Princeton High School in New Jersey.

The court’s decision has added two months on to his pre-trial detention, meaning he will stay behind bars through January 30th. A trial will follow that date at some pint. The Wall Street Journal and the US government deny Moscow’s claims — which say that Gershkovich collected secrets concerning the Russian military, while posing as a journalist.
