Auto workers are walking the picket line

syndication-detroit-free-press-29

After contract negotiations stalled with all three Detroit automakers, United Auto WorkersÕ members walk off the job at the Toledo Assembly Complex plant as part of a strike against Chrysler just after midnight on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023.

(Detroit, MI) — United Auto Workers are walking the picket line today. Union president Shawn Fain is blaming the big three automakers for the strike, saying they waited until the last week to start meetings over a new contract. The unionized auto workers want a pay hike, a four-day work week, and the return to pension and retiree benefits.
