(Tampa, FL) — Idalia is gaining strength. The Category 2 storm is packing maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hour as it makes its way toward the Florida Gulf Coast. Governor Ron DeSantis is ordering residents in nearly two dozen counties to evacuate. Forecasters expect Idalia to continue to strengthen, intensifying into an extremely dangerous, major hurricane before it makes landfall Wednesday.
