NYPD patrol vehicle responds
(New York, NY) – Police were taken back after discovering something floating in Newtown Creek, in Brooklyn Tuesday morning. It was 27-year-old John Castic, who went missing early Saturday after going clubbing in East Williamsburg.
The senior analyst with Goldman Sachs was last seen leaving the Brooklyn Mirage nightclub after attending a concert. The venue is known for its concerts and festivals, which includes “EDM” (electronic dance music).
Castic’s death comes just a few weeks after another man disappeared in the same neighborhood. His body was also found in Newtown creek.
For four days Castic’s friends searched for him, even going as far as alerting the local councilmember’s office to raise awareness of the disappearance. Councilmember Jennifer Gutierrez plans to hold a conference with local club owners in an attempt to promote safety in the area.
The investigation is still ongoing.
