(New York, NY) – A construction worker is being treated for minor injuries at the hospital, after he fell in between two buildings on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It happened shortly after 9:00 AM this morning on Broome Street, in between Attorney and Clinton.

FDNY officials say it’s not clear how the men fell, only that he tumbled around two stories or 30 feet and landed on his back. He was unable to free himself, so rescuers responded and used large, industrial-strength blades and jackhammers to cut open a hole in one of the two building’s walls. Then, a medical technician went into the hole and began administering aid, but they eventually got the guy out.

He was then taken to the hospital for further treatment. The victim never lost consciousness but did complain of head pain afterward.
