(New York, New York)—Michael Martinez of Houston, Texas, was thrown off his wheelchair during a career day at school, last year.

The 9-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, was dressed like his dream job–  a police officer. The day was everything to the boy, that is, until he was approached by a school bully. Angie Martinez, Michael’s mother, told  Fox 26 reporters the bully  “put his hands on him, shook him a little bit and kind of threw him to the side off his wheelchair.”

Just a year before, young Martinez was considered a hero after saving his family from carbon monoxide poisoning. After hearing beeping from the carbon monoxide detector, Martinez reportedly crawled into his family’s bedrooms to alert them of the leak– according to a local station.

The NYPD, over 1500 miles away, wanted to help the young hero. “We want to help kids going through a hard time,” said Joseph Imperatrice, founder of Blue Lives Matter NYC, to The Post. The department plans on giving Martinez the greatest experience touring the largest city in the country. “This little boy is absolutely special,” added Imperatrice, “We want to give him a front-row ticket to the greatest show on earth: seeing New York City.”

The tour is exclusive, including a meeting with Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Mayor Eric Adams, along with NYC pizza for lunch and participating in a NYPD roll call in Staten Island, according to Blue Lives Matter NYC.

Martinez is set to tour the city with his heroes this Thursday and Friday. It will be Michael’s first time in the Big Apple.
