(New York, NY) – Fliers targeting Jewish lawmakers that support gun control have surfaced outside homes in Plainview, Long Island. These fliers were placed in Ziploc bags and found down the street from a synagogue. Residents and community members say they are familiar with the hate group and have expressed concern to a local rabbi.
The rabbi, who spoke to NBC New York, shared that police tell him there’s not much they can do about the situation because the fliers are considered a form of free speech. That said, the Nassau County Police Department released a statement saying they are currently investigating the situation. The hate group responsible was also linked to the appearance of other fliers found in Rockville Centre and Oceanside last summer.
