NY Sheriff
(New York, NY) – An Upstate New York man is being charged with murder after he allegedly shot at and killed a woman who had turned into his driveway. Cops say last Saturday 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was looking for a friends house in Hebron, New York. She went up the wrong driveway after getting lost.
Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy provided an update on this case, Tuesday afternoon.
That’s when police say 65-year-old Kevin Monahan opened fire from his porch, hitting Gillis with one shot, and resulting in her death. Cops say it’s a very rural area with dirt roads, adding it’s easy to get lost. The area also has shoddy cell phone service. Neighbors maintain Monahan has ranted and raved about trespassers in the past. Police say he’s shown zero remorse for Gillis’ death.
