(New York, NY) — Police departments all across the tri-state are have stepped up patrols in Jewish communities, and outside Jewish institutions just as Passover begins tonight. North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena says she wants the Jewish community to celebrate the holiday without fear, after a slew of anti-Semitic incidents across New York this year. So far, there haven’t been any specific or credible threats made. In New York City, the NYPD says they will put more officers around synagogues and other sensitive areas during the Passover holiday.
