(New York, NY) – The man who allegedly shot a bodega worker dead on the Upper East Side over a week ago is pleading not guilty. Cops say 39-year-old Kimmond Cyrus shot and killed 67-year-old Sueng Choi after demanding cash at the Daona Deli, last Friday. Cyrus appeared calm in court as prosecutors described what he’s accused of. Prosecutors allege he held a gun to a customer’s head before eventually shooting the clerk dead. Investigators say Cyrus fired a shot that went through Choi’s hand and into his head.
NYPD detectives say they got a tip that led them to Cyrus. He’s been arrested three times previously. Cyrus may also be linked to additional robberies that have yet to be solved.
