Bronx, NY (77WABC)-Police have announced the arrest of a Bronx, NY man in connection with last year’s fatal shooting of another Bronx man inside of Joyce Kilmer Park at the corner of East 161 Street and Grand Concourse .
40-year-old Leonard Thalease of 780 Garden St. is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say Thalease is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old Miguel Rodriguez of 699 East 137th St. in the head around 2 am the morning of May 12th, 2022.
EMS transported Rodriguez to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been released.
