NEW YORK (77WABC) — Two young boys were stabbed to death in the Bronx Saturday night, and their mother, 22-year-old Dimone Fleming, is charged with two counts of murder and other charges in their deaths.
The boys, 11 month old Octavius Fleming-Canada and 3-year-old Dashawn Fleming were found in an apartment in Mount Hope around 8 p.m. with multiple stab wounds to their bodies.
Police had been called to the same home earlier Saturday on a reports that Fleming had allegedly been trying to burn down the apartment. She was taken by police for a psychiatric examination.
About an hour later police received another call from the boy’s father that he had found his children on the floor unresponsive. Police and neighbors raced to then scene and tried to revive the children, but were unable to do so.
Police say Fleming is charged with two counts each of murder, intention to murder and depraved indifference to persons less than 11-years-old.
An investigation is ongoing.
