Queens Man Arrested in an Attempted Rape Interrupted by Passerby

QUEENS, N.Y. (77WABC) — A 47-year-old Queens man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the attempted rape of a woman on a Queens street during the early morning hours of Sunday, October 23rd.

At approximately 2 a.m. that morning, a 47-year-old woman was walking near 147th Street and Roosevelt Avenue when police say the suspect — 47-year-old Wilson Kim — allegedly pushed her to the ground and made sexually motivated comments to her. Police say Kim then touched the woman inappropriately and tried to pull her pants down.

A good Samaritan walking by intervened, causing Kim to flee the location on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by EMS.

Police have charged Kim of 38-25 56th Street with Attempted Rape, Sex Abuse, Sexual Misconduct, Forcible Touching and Assault.
