NEW YORK (77WABC) — Police are searching for a group of five men involved in shooting a teenager in front of a Staten Island high school Tuesday afternoon.
Bullets flew around 1 p.m. outside Tottenville High School.
The victim, who is 14-year-old male was struck by the gunfire in his leg.
Police do not believe he was the intended target.
Police say they think the intended target dove underneath a nearby vehicle as shots rang out.
Police say the gunfire struck an MTA bus parked in front of the high school although there were no injuries resulting from the bus being hit.
The injured teenager was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not detailed a motive for the gunfire and have made no arrests.
