NEW YORK (AP) — It pays to be a nurse in more ways than one.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul is giving pay raises to nurses in order to help improve recruitment and retention efforts. Hochul says starting salaries to nurses working a day shift will rise to nearly $90,000 upstate, and $108,000 downstate.
The pay increase will impact about 6500 state employees across 15 state agencies.
