I heard the devastating news this morning. I cried. Could not stop crying. I never met Bernie, did not know him outside the radio but I have been tuning in to listen to him way back when he and Imus were together. Every morning I could not wait to heard his voice. Bernie was so smart I admired him for all he knew about so many things. He was a gentleman. He became part of my every day routine. I was right by his side in everything that he believed in. Bernie what are we going to do without you? I will miss you every day on the radio. My prayers go out to his family. You left us to early to young. You are a legend. I am sure heaven is celebrating your arrival. ❤️
Bernie’s quick wit and comedic timing has brought laughter to so many people for decades. His love for Long Island and the beach will always be remembered. I pray for peace for his family…. Next time I’m at Jimmy Hays Steak House, we’ll all toast Bernie! Rest In Peace…thank you for all of the laughs throughout the years.
I can’t believe it. I’ve been listening to you guys since I was little when you guys first aired and to think that in my 20’s I won’t be able to listen to the Bernie & Sid show the same. He was an icon and I won’t be able to feel your pain Sid but mine is heavy. Love you all, especially Bernie and Sid.
I am so sorry to learn of Bernie’s death. I have been a fan and listener since he was a traffic reporter on Imus show. He will be missed by many.
Sad to hear of Bernie’s passing. He was always entertaining and interesting. And smart too.
Bernie you felt like a family and friend member. Many a tear was shed this morning. We thank your family for sharing you with all of us. You were such a great talent, loved your humor. Loved your book recommendations and you were so versed in history and made me want to read more. We met once at a Rob Bartlett show, you seemed so shy in person and were very gracious. You will be forever missed. AM radio will not be the same without you. Sid and WABC family will miss him greatly. God Comfort all of you in this sad time. Remember how blessed you all were to know Bernie and spend time with him. Irish prayer , Nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will be one together with Christ. Amen. Slainte.
Returned to his Maker on the day of Yom Kippur.
Tradition states that one who passes on Yom Kippur is truly righteous a tzaddik.
RIP
May his memory be for a blessing.
RIP Bernie and thank you and Sid for all the years of awesome entertainment! In this crazy upside-down world we live in you were the voice of reason and I’m glad you finally got Sid to see the light! You will be missed and I know Sid in your honor will take that torch of common sense and run with it!
I feel as though I know Bernie personally after listening to him for so many years. A few years ago he even accepted my facebook friend request, not a following request but an actual friend request. How many celebrities would actually do that? That shows how big Bernie’s heart was. A regular guy with extraordinary talent. I miss him! Condolences to his wife, Carol and his children. Rest in Peace, Bernie!!
My heartfelt condolences to Bernie’s family and to the WABC77 family too. He was part of my "family" with Imus and now with dear Sid for so many years. Godspeed dear Bernie, you will be missed by so many.

Sad – sad day.
I have been a listener of Bernard for a very long time and have been looking so forward to his returning and bringing his daily insight back to all of us. I as well as millions of listeners will miss you so very much. My sincere condolences to Bernie’s immediate family, and to his family at 77 WABC. God Bless
My heartfelt condolences to Bernie’s family and to the entire WABC family. You will be missed by so many, Bernie…mornings won’t be the same without you. Rest in peace.
Waking up to the news we’ve been fearing was heartbreaking. Bernie was such a wonderful combination of a deep thinker with a warm heart and great sense of humor. God speed to Bernie, and prayers for his family and all who knew and loved him. We will miss him terribly.
A true professional and an authentic real person we all could relate to. He always made the listener feel like he knew you. From his early days with Imus and his last days with Sid he was honest forthright and a people person. His honesty was genuine.
As an avid listen all these years I will miss him immensely. God has a new wingman and I am sure Bernie already has his ear. RIP Bernie, we will all see you again one day.
After a silent prayer, the program director’s choice of Roy Orbison’s "Crying" had me singing in tears on my morning walk today.
I first heard Bernie on the radio in 1986, and have loved listening to this brilliant man all of these years. He feels like a part of the family to me. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends, we all mourn his passing with you. The world seems a lesser place without him. May he rest in peace, and may God hold him and his family close during this extremely sad time.
All the early morning 77WABC listeners are one big Conservative family and he was one of our greatest voices. A true radio legend that will be forever missed. Prayers for Sid and most of all Bernie’s family. RIP🥲📻🙏🏻
Guy I worked with in 1988 was a sports nut and our work truck only had an AM radio so we started listening to WFAN which was my introduction to Imus. I followed Don, Bernie, Chuck, Rob and the rest of the gang for the rest of Dons career. So many laugh out loud moments I couldn’t count them. God bless “The Cardinal “ RIP Bernie and thanks again
My condolences and prayers go out to Bernard’s family and Sid. Over the time of finding out about his fight, my wife and I prayed for him, but I believe God had a better plan for such a good person. I’m sad to have only been able to listen to such a Great American man since Jan 2020. As Sid stated this morning, he is a loss to all humanity. God Bless
My most heartfelt and sincere condolences to Carol, her children, and the WABC broadcast family. As an Imus listener back to the days of "10,000 hamburgers", Bernie had been a daily part of my mornings since he joined the air.
He was erudite, intelligent, creative, exceptionally well-read, and amazingly humble given his enormous talent as a writer and commentator. I disagreed with him only twice, on the Iraq War and Trump 2016, and was proven wrong both times. But I only recognized the the full breadth of his enormous gifts when he partnered with Sid Rosenberg. He has been, and will be, greatly missed.
RIP, old friend I never had the honor to meet.
I’m very sad he was a great man
Thanks for making my days Easier…by making me me laugh.. Also by telling the truth politically.. Isticking up for trump voters… And not selling out like the rest of the media does.. God-bless you in heaven Bernard.. God-bless your family. Mike Rope… yaphank ny

A true and great New Yorker and American. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family , his friends, Sid, and colleagues as well. May God grant them comfort and may his memory be eternal.
I enjoyed listening to Bernie since his Imus days and was so glad that he and Sid Rosenberg got their own show. My heartfelt condolences to his wife, son, daughter & family and of course his WABC family, especially Sid. God’s blessings to you, Bernie….you’ll be missed.
My sincere condolences to Bernard’s family and to his family at the station.
I found your station while trying to find Bernie. I listened to Imus for him as well as your station.
I am from Michigan and listen to your station all day and have told others about it. However, it was all because of Bernie and his intellect, humor and integrity. I so admired him.
I don’t know where I will go now for my talk radio. I cannot listen to Frank Morano, only to Curtis on the weekends. Bernie can never be replaced. RIP Bernie

I absolutely loved Bernie. The years he was on with Don and company brought so much laughter into my life. I was happy to see him in person when the gang came down to Tampa Bay during Super Bowl week years ago. My sincere condolences to Carol and the family … I know how much you meant to him. Rest well brave, talented man, rest well.
Like most mornings, I turned on the radio shortly after getting up and heard the tragic news of Bernie’s passing. I’m sure that I’m not alone when my eyes filled with tears and my voice cracked as I told my wife.
Though we never met, Bernie was like an old friend. He would have easily fit in any our family barbecues. He made us laugh out loud, he made us think about the issues of the day, he was always prepared, super smart and his instincts during interviews were the best in the business.
Morning coffee will never be same.
Carole, Melanie, & Brendan, please know that you will be in our prayers during this difficult time. May you be comforted by a lifetime of loving memories.
Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him O Lord, and May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him. May His Soul and the Soul of All the Faithful Departed, Rest in Peace.
"Who Can Beat Bernie?"
Bernie was a force that had far-reaching effects. He entertained us, educated us, and he showed us how to express compassion and feelings. He will be missed but forever remembered for all the natural talent he gave to the world. God Bless Bernie, his family, Sid, friends, and listeners.

I knew that Bernie was fighting prostate cancer but I didnt realize how serious it was. Bernard is gone too soon. Heartbroken. Bernies voice, wit and wisdom will be missed and the Legend will live and never be forgotten.
My prayers and condolences to Bernie’s family . He brought me many hours of entertainment and laughs on my morning commute going back to the Imus in the Morning Show on WFAN . I adored listening to Bernie for so long – and grew to love the team dynamic between him and Sid. This is awful. He was on top of the world when this diagnosis was made. He will be greatly missed – and a huge thanks to Mr. Cats who truly cares about Bernie, his colleagues, family and friends.
