Never thought I’d cry over a radio personality; RIP; Bernie
me to. I am devastated. I need to attend his memorial at Saint Pats. I am so thankful that us listeners are invited. I spent so many mornings with Bernie at Bernie and Syd, he was family at this point.
Father, son and Holy Ghost, Bernard hanging out with The I-man in heaven is what we want most.
Lord hear our prayer……
A true treasure has left us way too soon. RIP and thank you for making my days brighter.
❤️🙏✝️✝️😁😁
Can’t imagine not hearing Bernies voice! He was the best on Imus! His rational voice will be missed in Idaho! Prayers and love to his family and WABC
My deepest condolences to Bernie’s family and his mates at the statio. especially Sid. He fought a valiant fight. I listened joyfully to him since the IMUS days. His talents and more importantly, his quiet humble demeanor is a deep loss to radio. I will miss him.
MAY THE FOUR WINDS BLOW YOU SAFELY HOME , MY FRIEND ….
RIP Bernie. Thanks for the laughs and your wisdom. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
I always looked forward to listening to Bernie every day he was on air going all the way back to the Imus days. I truly will miss him much like all of us will. I could just feel it was not right the last five to six weeks. You could just feel something was not right. I shed tears this morning like all of us did . God took a good one yesterday from us. And i hope Bernie is keeping him happy also. My condolences to Carol and the two boys. Bernie will be sorely missed. I love you Bernie, we will all miss you. This hurt is going to take a long time to get over. R I P, God Speed……..
RIP Bernie. Listening to you and Imus since the 70s. God bless you and your family.
Sid and Lou, hang in there
such a sad day………………………morning radio wont be the same! Godspeed Bernie!
So sad to hear of Bernie’s passing. He will be sorely missed. Such a gentleman. Have listened to him since imus was on the radio. He was the one I listened to every morning for more years than I care to remember. Such a talent. Not many like him. RiP.
Rest in eternal peace, Bernie. Our deepest condolences to your family and friends. We will miss your strong, wise voice on The Bernie and Sid Show. Thank you for sharing your thought-provoking views and engaging us in local and global issues. You informed and educated others with wisdom, experience, and common sense reasoning. All we can ask of our time here is to make a positive difference, and that you did. You will forever be remembered as a class act and radio legend!
I told my wife when I heard on the radio this morning, she asked " are you crying ?"
I guess I was.
RIP Bernie
So very sorry to hear the sad news this morning. Bernie was a good person and very smart. God wanted him in heaven but he will be missed here on earth. My prayers go out to his family both at home and his radio family at WABC. Thank you to John and Margo Catsimatidis for making WABC great again and for the chance to hear Bernie every day. 🙏🙏🙏
Our family listens to the show just about every morning. Bernie & Sid became part of our family in a way that only radio has the ability to enable. We were in tears this morning for a man whom we never met and who never knew we even existed, but who spoke to us every day and became part of our daily lives. To be so devastated for the loss of a “stranger” speaks volumes about what a singular, irreplaceable man Bernie was.
Deepest condolences to Carol, the kids, Bernie’s dad, his entire family and the WABC family, especially Sid. Be comforted by the many fond memories you have. Be lifted up by the millions of people he touched and whose lives he brightened. May Bernard McGuirk’s memory be for a blessing.
My thoughts and prayers to the McGuirk family and at WABC.
My deepest sympathies.
Bernie was a fantastic radio talent and added truth and compassion.
I know all those Bronx & Yonkers areas he spoke about.
Grew up and still in the Bronx. Never disagreed with his opinions.
God bless your family. Be in peace.
Bernie McGuirk will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing his love, wisdom, humor & intelligence.
My sincere condolences & prayers to his family & devoted friends.
Peace & Love, Rocki
Rest in peace Bernie. Love you in the mornings broadcasting from New York as I listen in Winnipeg. You are inspiration, God Bless, free thought lives.
I’ve been dreading this day. Devastating news. My thoughts and prayers to the McGuirk family. RIP Bernie and thank you for making me look forward to weekday mornings.
Thank you Bernie Goodbye
As I was drinking my coffee this morning I was thinking of you Bernie as I was hoping to hear you on the radio. Several minutes later I learned of your passing. I have listened to you since my childhood, in fact it goes back to my fathers alarm clock listening to the wolf man jack show and then Imus. As a child I would sit and record you as Cardinal O’Connor and then listen over and over on the audio tape. Bow your heads and pray. In the name of father son and the Holy Ghost . God bless you brother. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Long time listener (all the way back to MSNBC days) writing from Louisville, KY, where I listen to the stream and podcast. Just learning about the loss of Bernie. What a sad day. Bernie was brilliant host and observer of the human condition, with so many terrific stories. And his comedy was legendary. I still look for old tv clips that feature him. My sincere condolences to his family and to his radio partner Sid. I will never forget his talent.
My oldest son is a Program Director at a Major University Radio Station and his love of radio started by watching Bernie and the gang over on MSNBC. A guy from the Boogie Down Bronx inspired a young man from the Hills of West Virginia to go into Broadcasting and Journalism. Think about that for just a second!!! Inspire my son? You’re a hero and icon in my household. RIP Cardinal. Much love and respect to Bernie and his family. Also, to the gang of WABC. Listen to WABC almost everyday and will continue to do so!
Condolences to Bernie’s Family and friends. Will miss listening to him in the morning.
Devastated over this news. Sincere condolences to his family and all of his WABC family as well
Watched and listened to you for so long that I think of you as a friend. I’m from Santa Barbara CA and never been to NY but you brought NY everyday life into my home. I will remember all of your memories and cherish them every day. You will be missed my friend. Shamayim received an angel on Yom Kippur.
RIP Bernard "Bernie" McGuirk. Bernie, you will be missed, thank you for all the laughs. You and Sid were amazing together and brought alot of laughs, smiles and joy to the mornings of so many people. I wish Sid the best going forward but BERNIE will never be forgotten or replaced. Rest up, King. Prayers, love and condolences to your family & friends.
Words cannot describe how I feel today about the passing of a legend Bernard McGuirk. I want to first send my condolences to his wife Carol & his kids. I am so sad, I’ve been listening to Bernie throughout the Imus years and throughout the Bernie & Sid years. God as my witness, I have never missed not one Bernie & Sid show since it started mainly because I listen to it on the Podcast. I am in such a state of shock, I know he has missed the past 2 months. But every time Bernie would be out for his chemo, I would always be waiting for him to be back. I knew things may have gotten more serious because he had been out awhile, but I was still waiting for his return. I am very saddened to know now that he will never return & I feel for Sid now along with his family. He fought on without ever letting the public know that things were worse than he described it. He kept on coming on the air knowing his faith, because he loved doing what he did. He also loved this country with all his heart & did everything he can no matter his health to keep letting us who we should support. He was right about so many things. Along with Sid they kept making me want to come back for more, I never grew tired with either of them. Its funny, in the beginning they had many differences between them, but as they worked together they became more alike. So much of what they say & do is so much like how I feel. That is why my memories will last forever. Bernie you will always be remembered as long as Sid is on the air. RIP Bernie
May GOD bless you dear Cardinal. Your humor, intelligence, patriotism will sorely be missed. My sincerest condolences, prayers and sympathy go to Carol, your children and Father. Also your wonderful co-workers, may they be blessed for having known and had you in their lives. GOD BLESS YOU.
My heart is saddened by this news of his passing. My condolences to his family and you will be missed dearly.
A true talent
Honest
Funny
No holds barred
Told it like it is
Sarcastic wise guy
Sincere
Radio legend
Without Bernie imus wouldn’t have been the iman cause (to quote Bernie)
He’s the man
The most heartfelt condolences to all friends, family and fans of Bernie. Admittedly, I only listened to the Imus show for those moments when Bernie would be heard and it was an absolute that I would be impressed by his comedic talent and wide-ranging intellect. There won’t be another (like Bernie) so R.I.P., Bernie McGuirk.
I loved Bernie since the Imus days, met him at a remote at Fenway Park, really nice guy, not like Imus who bumped into me in the men’s room, rest easy brother
Rest easy Bernie. You are free from pain ❤️ Love and miss you. Prayers to your family and friends. 🙏
Rest easy Bernie. You are free from pain ❤️ Love and miss you. Prayers to your family and friends. 🙏
When I heard this morning i wanted to cry Bernie and Sid were and are my morning routine on the way to work or driving my daughter to school everyday. They were like close buddies. Hearing about Bernie’s passing hit hard my absolute deepest condolences to his family personal and radio. This is an incredible loss. Rest now hero your fight is over.
Long time listener from Missouri:
I’ve never met Bernie. I’ve never had a conversation with Bernie. I live over a thousand miles away from Bernie. So why do I feel as if someone from my family has just passed away? That’s the effect Bernie has had on my life. Thank you, Bernie, for educating me, entertaining me and bringing joy to my life. Thank you for sharing your life with all of your extended family that you will never meet. Thank you Carol for sharing your husband with the rest of us for so many years. I pray for God to comfort you and give you peace throughout this time.
To Bernie’s family, Sid, all his friends & business associates I offer my sincerest sympathies. Today was the dreaded news I feared we would hear. Such a great loss. I’ve listened to Bernie and Sid from 1994 forward when the were with Imus. To see the success of their own show has been heart warming. Rest in peace Bernie. You were loved!
It isn’t often that we come across someone we don’t really know, who makes an indelible impression on our life, but Bernie McGuirk was one of those people. Every morning on his radio show, particularly during the past several years, as we the public, had to endure so much misinformation and uncertainty, Bernie would impart his wisdom, perception and humor, with an air of confidence, conveying to his listeners that we had to look beyond what we were being told and see what was really going on.
He had a perspective on life events, that his audience could relate to, so they heard him and continued to listen. I believe that he was instrumental in helping many of his listeners weather the storm of covid and the discernible political angst that has besieged many Americans these past years.
With the passing of Bernie, we have lost not only a wonderful, very funny and brave man but a voice of reason and honesty that will be sorely missed.
My deepest sympathy to his family. Rest in Peace, Bernie McGuirk.

Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

I just heard this this morning and needless to say I’m devastated. Rest In Peace dear Bernie you will be missed every day. Comfort to his wife carol and his 2 children, and to Sid my prayers are with you and your family, God speed😥
Sad news. Bernie you’re going to be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and your coworkers
My condolences to the McGuirk family, the WABC family and especially to Sid and family. I have been listening to Bernie and Sid every morning and have been missing Bernie for some time. He was one of the good ones in all aspects of his life. Thank you for being there for us; your fans and listeners. You will be dearly missed.
Love you Bernie I will miss waking up with you. No one was better on the radio then you. I cannot thank you enough for the countless hours of joy you brought to me by listening to you
One of the really Good Guys!
When I worked on The Morning Show with GERALDO Bernie was one of the best reasons to go to work in the morning!
Fun, Smart, Professional !
May his memory be a blessing. RIP… old friend.
Not fair…..but he made a difference. Anyone who listened to him would be bowled over by his sincerity, passion and common sense.
MY heart aches… I cried when I heard the song "Gold Digger" this morning and the operative word was, "WAS" … Bernie WAS this and Bernie WAS that and then I thought, Oh No!!! I thought he was on the mend… He will be missed. I will miss "Bernie reads a lot of books, Its time to beat Bernie!" My heartfelt condolences to his wife and family. But he gave us the truth and said it well !!! You are a hero to all of us and through your word, deeds and actions- anyone can achieve anything if they put their minds to it! Thank you BG! RIP and read on! <3 PS: Its because of you (your presence on the O’Reilly Factor) and your teamwork with Sid that I switched from 710 to 770 in the morning!!! Blessings to Sid as well !!!
Through tears, light speed! From Monroe Houses to Heaven. Former neighbor.
my deepest condolences to the McGuirk family, Though I didn’t know Bernie personally I viewed him as a FRIEND and a BROTHER at arms. may GOD BLESS his FAMILY thru this trying time.
Dear SId,
I don’t say this often, but I will make this exception. I am sorry ! I am sorry for your loss. I know you really loved Bernie, it was obvious. And since we love you it becomes even that much more difficult. Especially during these treasured moments. So I’m sorry. And know, that I too will be crying with you all day.
Kindly-
Greg
My thoughts and prayers to the McGuirk family and his second family at WABC/Red Apple Media families. My deepest sympathies.
Like many others – I have listened to Bernie for over 30 years. Always took something away from his intellect, brilliant opinions, wit and humor. One day in particular, I nearly drove my car off the road listening to one of his skits, I was in tears. The sheer brilliance of his retorts and rebuttals always amazed me. The rare combination of street smarts/grit combined with his intellect made him a galvanizing figure. He was like an older cousin I always looked up to. He will be dearly missed
Sid – my thoughts and prayers. When you are ready, there is no doubt you will carry on the torch and forever honor Bernie’s legacy
Sad day. Goodbye and God speed. Say Hi to the I Man (if he made it to heaven that is)
I woke up this morning, as I always do to Bernie and Sid, and was so sad to hear that Bernie had passed. He was a real radio talent and in his years of broadcasting he added so much truth and compassion for his audience who loved him.
His family is lucky to have such a wonderful husband and father and to them I send my sincere condolences. RIP Bernie
God has another ‘Cardinal’ in Heaven… RIP Bernie and thank you for years of entertainment and thought
