(77WABC) — Hurricane Ian a dangerous and deadly storm making landfall in southwestern Florida Wednesday as a massive Category 4 storm.
About 2.5 million people had been ordered to evacuate the area before the storm hit the coast with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. Over a million and a half people without power.
The storm surge in some areas are as high as 12 feet. Governor Ron DeSantis has declared Florida a disaster area.
Hurricane Ian tore into western Cuba as a major hurricane Tuesday, killing two people and bringing down the country’s electrical grid.
