(Miami, FL) — Tropical Storm Fiona is churning in the Atlantic and expected become a hurricane in the coming days. Robbie Berg at the National Hurricane Center says the center of Fiona is expected to move near or just south of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico Saturday into Sunday.

Some models project the storm could pass close to the U.S. East Coast next week, while others have it turning north out to sea. Officials advise East Coast residents to monitor Fiona’s progress.

Fiona is packing 50 MPH winds as it moves west through the Atlantic.
