NEW YORK (77WABC) — Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul bolted from reporters during the West Indian Day Parade this year — just days after a new poll shows her only four percentage points head of Republican challenger Congressman Lee Zeldin.
She marched with dignitaries behind a banner bearing her name and title during the parade, departing to an awaiting SUV before the end of the parade route. According to the New York Post, Hochul briefly turned her head in response to a shouted question from the Post, but she didn’t answer, got into the vehicle and left.
Zeldin told 77WABC’s Bernie and Sid in the Morning program that as Governor, he’d support law enforcement and fight crime.
