NEW YORK, NEW YORK -(77WABC) Not enough funding to keep it running.
The 9/11 Tribute Museum in Lower Manhattan closed its doors for good Wednesday. The museum falling in the red with millions of dollars in debt during the pandemic because of a lack of visitors. Attendance dropping from 500 hundred thousand in 2011 —to more than 25 thousand last year.
The museum which is separate from the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at ground zero, will continue to operate online.
