NEW YORK (77 WABC) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott was on Fox News — sounding like Hollywood movie cop Dirty Harry — saying to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, “go ahead mayor — make my day,” in response to Adams suggesting he would bus New Yorkers down to Texas to campaign against the Republican for the “Good of America.”
The war of words heated up in response to Abbott busing migrants to New York City to show what border communities put up with almost every day. More buses carrying migrants arrived in New York City on Wednesday.
Adams says Abbott is an “anti-American governor that is really going against everything we stand for.”
Mayor Adams has been asking for Federal assistance in dealing with migrants since shelters are already over crowded.
