(77WABC)- More Incidents Of Subway Violence in the NYC Transit System. A suspect has been arrested and charged after a man was shoved onto subway tracks at the Time Square Subway Station. A gunman is on the loose after a teenager riding the “A” train was shot by a man on the platform.
The NYPD says a 35-year-old man on the Southbound Platform for the No. 1 train was shoved onto train tracks for the “E” train at the Times Square Subway Station Wednesday night.
Police arrested 27-year-old Wilson Garcia . He’s charged with assault And reckless endangerment.
Garcia is also the suspect in an unsolved forcible touching incident from May. He was also charged with groping a 19-year old woman at the 34th St. Herald Square Subway Station on May 25th.
The man who was shoved at the Times Square Station was taken to a hospital for treatment of bruising and injuries to his head.
Police say an 18-year-old man was riding a Southbound “A” train when a gunman fired his weapon from the platform at Beach 67th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard around 9:23 pm Wednesday.
The teenager was struck in his leg and taken to Brookdale Hospital. He Is expected to survive.
No arrests have been made in the shooting incident. An investigation is ongoing.
