NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD is looking for a man who spit on and attacked a straphanger with a baton on a Brooklyn train Wednesday morning.

Police say around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday on a southbound N train at the Fort Hamilton Avenue train station, a 41-year-old man was sitting in the train when the attacked approached him and then spat in his face. The man then began recording his attacker with his cellphone, where the attacker then took out a collapsible baton and hit the man on his right arm and leg before punching him in the face.

The man was transported to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover. His attacker stayed on the train and fled to parts unknown.
