WASHINGTON (77 WABC) — The January 6th committee convening in Washington Thursday night live in prime time.
Democratic Representative Elaine Luria says for 187 minutes – former President Trump did nothing to stop the riots at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th 2021, playing video of Trump at 1:10 pm telling supporters to walk down Pennsylvania avenue to the Capitol. Then the committee played video of Trump at 4:10 pm telling people to go home.
The committee then played video of shocked and dumbfound General Mark Milley–who was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, saying he heard nothing from the President while the U.S Capitol was under attack
Republican Representative Adam Kinzinger says Milley’s reaction to Trump’s conduct is 100 percent correct.
The committee says Trump watched the events unfolding on TV.
