DOHA, Qatar (77WABC) — Delegates at the second annual Qatar Economic Forum warned the United States is headed for a recession.
The warnings are from the likes of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, economist Nouriel Roubini, Atlas Merchant Capital’s Bob Diamond and Stanchart’s Bill Winters. Diamond also said the fed’s rate hike was the “correct move” and another 75 basis point increase in July is “probably appropriate,” this according to Diamond.
Goldman Sachs economists cut their us growth forecasts and warned that the risk of recession is rising. However the White House has continued to deny that there is a recession coming.
Former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said inflation in the us can be brought under control if energy prices settle down and the Federal Reserve follows through on its pledge to continue raising interest rates.
