U.S.-LOS ANGELES-GAS PRICE-JUMP
LOS ANGELES (77WABC) — Prices at the pumps continue to tick upwards to new historical highs.
Filling up in the city of Los Angeles this week cost as much as $8 a gallon at some stations. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles increased to $6.213 — more than $2 greater than one year ago.
AAA says the average national price for a gallon of gas is $4.715 as of Thursday. One year ago the average was $3.041.
In NJ, AAA says the average is $4.791— even higher in New York at $4.827 a gallon for regular unleaded.
