NEW YORK (77WABC) — A new poll shows Andrew Giuliani is holding a narrow lead over party-backed candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin ahead of the June 28 gubernatorial primary.
According to the survey conducted by longtime pollster John Zogby, the former White House aide had the support of 28.1% of likely Republican voters compared to 22.8% for Zeldin. Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino came in third with 13.7% and businessman Harry Wilson garnered the support 10.3% of respondents.
However representatives of Zeldin’s campaign have blasted the poll as ‘fake’ and ‘inaccurate’.
“There is a 0% chance this ridiculous poll is anywhere within a galaxy of accurate,” Zeldin’s campaign said in a statement to 77WABC. “Every other recent poll has shown Congressman Zeldin as the clear frontrunner, including the non-partisan, independent Emerson College poll that was recently released.”
That Emerson College Polling/PIX11/The Hill poll shows Zeldin holds 26% of support, followed by Giuliani with 18%, and Rob Astorino with 16%. 19% are undecided.
