Last night the Battle of Alberta got underway as the Calgary Flames hosted the Edmonton Oilers. At one point the Flames led 5-1, but then Edmonton scored five out of the next six goals tying the game at 6. The Flames then responded by scoring the final three goals of the game winning by a final score of 9-6. The teams combined to score 15 goals in game one. Flames star Matthew Tkachuk recorded a hat trick in the game. A couple of other players who stepped up for Calgary were Blake Coleman who scored two goals in game one, Andrew Mangiapane who recorded a goal and an assist, and Rasmus Anderson who also had a goal and an assist yesterday. A couple of players who came up big for Edmonton were Zach Hyman who had two goals in the game, star Connor McDavid who scored the first goal of the game for the Oilers and had two assists, and Leon Draisaitl who had a goal, and an assist in game one of this second round of this series. This series looks like it’s going to be a fun one. The Battle of Alberta will resume on Friday night for game two.
