NEW YORK (77WABC) — An 11-year-old girl who was shot in the Bronx has died.
Police say it happened around 5 p.m. Monday on Westchester Avenue in the Longwood section. Investigators say she was not believed to have been the intended target.
They say two suspects riding a scooter were chasing a man, when a gunman on the scooter fired shots at the man. Police say one of the bullets struck the girl in the abdomen.
She was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where she died from her injuries. So far police have not made any arrests.
