Joe Biden at a Cinco de Mayo reception – Washington
WASHINGTON (77WABC) — A CNN poll out Wednesday finds troubling political results for President Joe Biden and his Democratic party heading into primaries and midterm elections.
A majority of respondents told the poll that Biden’s policies have hurt the economy. 8 in 10 say the government is not doing enough to combat inflation.
Despite this, the President has remained optimistic.
The poll finds only 23% of Americans rate economic conditions as somewhat good, down from 37% in December. That’s the lowest rating since November 2011.
Only 34% told the CNN poll they approve of Biden’s management of the economy. The poll also found 94% of Republicans, 81% of Independents and 54% of Democrats rate the economy as poor under Biden.
