NEW YORK (77WABC) — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in looking for a man who is seen on video attacking an Asian woman in broad daylight.
Police say on Sunday, April 24 around 8:50 a.m. near 9th Avenue and W. 19th Street, the 68-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was approached by the attacker who punched her in her torso and caused her to fall to the ground. The the man then fled on foot.
The woman was transported in stable condition to Lenox Health Greenwich Village Hospital suffering from back pain and bruised ribs. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
