Russian shelling aftermath in Kyiv, Ukraine – 14 Mar 2022
NEW YORK (77 WABC) — Ukraine’s has taken back control of the entire ‘ Kyiv region’ from Russian troops, the country’s deputy defense minister said control of Ukraine’s capital and surrounding areas, including Irpin and Bucha, following intense fighting leaving behind destruction and civilian deaths.
The war on Ukraine is in its second month. Officials say over 480-people were killed in Bucha and Irpin, suburbs of Kyiv during fighting.
Ukrainian forces prevented Russian troops from taking control of Gostomel, near Kyiv, as Russian troops attempted to take control of the airfield there. Ukraine’s defense says Russia is withdrawing from Northern areas and appears to be focusing on the East and South of the country.
