The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed Leonard Fournette to a three-year deal that has a $21 million base value, reuniting the running back with quarterback Tom Brady and keeping the veteran under contract through the 2024 season. Sources say that the contract could be worth up to $24 million with incentives.
The Jacksonville Jaguars released Fournette in 2020, who then joined the Buccaneers just days later. Fournette was part of the Buccaneers’ 2020 Super Bowl-winning team alongside Brady, and re-signed with Tampa Bay last year in a one-year deal worth $3.25 million.
The 27-year-old totaled 1,266 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns in 14 games last season. Fournette totaled 812 yards and eight scores on the ground and another 454 yards and two scores as a pass catcher.
