TRENTON, NEW JERSEY -(77WABC)- New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said he will lift the COVID statewide public health emergency on Monday.
Friday was Murphy’s last COVID briefing. More than 30 thousand people in New Jersey have died from COVID 19.
Murphy says “We are ready to move forward and not live our lives in fear.”
New Jersey’s school mask mandate will also end on Monday.
Still, Murphy stopped short of saying we have seen the last of COVID. Murphy said “We think we can responsibly live a normal life with COVID. But an endemic means it remains in our midst.”
