New York, NY (77WABC)-The NYPD has made an arrest in connection with the alleged assault of a small child inside of the Red Star Chinese Restaurant near Times Square.
Police say Mandelo Stroman of 2541 7th Avenue in Manhattan is charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 years of age.
On Saturday January 29th around 6:45 pm. police say video surveillance shows Stroman striking his son causing the boy to fall to the ground. Stroman then put the boy in a stroller and left the restaurant with him.
Stroman was arrested on Monday at 4:30 in the afternoon by officers from the 32nd precinct.
Police told 77WABC that the boy has been placed with Child Protective Services. His father is held awaiting arraignment.
