President Joe Biden Delivers Remarks and Receives a COVID-19 Booster Shot
WASHINGTON -(77WABC) The White House announcing that President Biden is meeting with Mayor Adams in the city next week to discuss strategies in an effort to help end gun violence, as New York continues to see a series of deadly shootings, including two NYPD officers.
The Daily News reporting the meeting is set to take place in Manhattan next Thursday, and will focus on the Biden administration’s “comprehensive strategy to combat gun crime, which includes historic levels of funding for cities and states to put more cops on the beat and invest in community violence prevention and intervention programs.”
Biden released an anti-gun violence plan last summer. It focuses heavily on using federal resources to beef up local police departments and hunt down gun traffickers who bring illegal weapons from southern states into large cities, including New York.
