New York City’s first winter storm of the season will make roads icy for the Friday morning commute

NEW YORK (77WABC) – Get out the snow gear, the tri state bracing for its first snowstorm of the season.

Snowflakes will begin to fall after midnight–continuing into early Friday morning. Accumulation can vary—right now forecasters are calling for three to five inches of snow in the city—the Jersey shore, eastern Long Island and coastal Connecticut.  1 to 3 inches North and West.

City Sanitation commissioner Ed Grayson say’s the timing of the snow will make for a treacherous morning commute.

Crews are ready with the salt spreaders and plows.  Alternate side parking is suspended Friday and Saturday.
