Queens, NY (77WABC)-An off duty NYPD Lt. leaving club La Boom was shot during an attempted robbery. A suspect is dead, three other suspects are on the run.
The gunfire erupted as the off duty officer was leaving a performance by Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers at the La Boom nightclub.
Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said its believed the gunfire erupted after the suspects attempted to rob the officer of jewelry he was wearing.

The officer was shot in his leg, chest, wrist and grazed in his head. He is in critical but stable condition at Elmhurst Hospital.
The shooting happened at 3:12 this morning on 57th St. and Northern Blvd.
A weapon was recovered at the scene.
Shea said its believed the suspects fled in a vehicle.
