WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN, (77WABC) The man arrested over the deadly Christmas parade rampage in Wisconsin which killed five people, was released on low bond days before the incident.
Police say Darrell Brooks is charged with five counts of intentional homicide in Sunday’s horrific rampage which also injured dozens of other people.
Police Chief Dan Thompson say’s this was not a terrorist attack.
Investigators say Brooks was out on bond at the time, after allegedly punching the mother of his child and hitting her with his car in a Milwaukee gas station parking lot earlier this month.
The Milwaukee County DA’s office said it had launched an internal probe into how Brooks was issued such a low bond, due to the seriousness of the charges and his history.
