Riverhead, NY (77WABC)-Suffolk County Police Friday morning arrested a 21-year-old Riverhead woman for allegedly stabbing her girlfriend to death at their home.
Suffolk County Police received a 9-1-1 call of a disturbance at 1142A East Main Street two minutes before midnight Thursday. Officers arrived, finding no one at the residence, however there was evidence of a struggle.
A short time later, officers found a female stabbing victim at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. The victim, 20-year-old Marta Esmerelda Ramirez-Carbajal was pronounced dead.
According to police, the victim’s girlfriend 21-year-old Karen Abigail Delacruz-Reyes, who was also at the hospital, was charged with manslaughter in the first degree.
Delacruz-Reyes is scheduled to be arraigned today in Riverhead Justice Court.
