A Pedestrian Critically Injured in Medford Sunday Night

Medford, NY (77WABC)-A 54-year-old pedestrian was left in critical condition after being hit by a car on Rt. 112 south of Granny Road in Medford Sunday night.

Around 9:40 pm,  detectives from the 6th precinct say a 22-year-old Medford man was driving a 2005 Honda Civic southbound on Route 112 when his car struck a 54-year-old man who was walking in the roadway.

The name of the victim has not yet been released. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. The driver was not hurt.

Police say the driver’s vehicle, a Honda, was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
