New York, NY (77WABC)- The crisis at the border seems to be getting worse as a series of pictures surfaced that appear to show a US Border Patrol agent on horseback with a whip trying to deter migrants.
The Department of Homeland Security said those are not whips on the horse, but reins used by the rider. Either way, it appears that the agent is using ‘WHATEVER’ it is, as a whip. We aren’t sure what to think as we aren’t avid horseback riders…
US Customs and border protection also say that there are at least 1-3 flights operating to Haiti per day, and more than 300 people have already been returned back to their countries.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said he was “horrified” by the images, stating:
“I was horrified by what I saw. I’m going to let the investigation run its course. But the pictures that I observed troubled me profoundly. That defies all of the values that we seek to instill in our people.”
