Brooklyn, NY (77WABC)-Video posted to Instagram shows on duty and uniformed NYPD Officer Donna Scott riding on the back on an illegal dirt bike in Greenpoint Brooklyn during a block party. The incident comes only a few days after city officials and police announced a major crackdown on illegal dirt bikes and ATV’s.
The NY Post reports the officer was suspended without pay on Sunday.
The Post reports Scott was assigned to the 83 Precinct and joined the force in April 2019.
The suspension comes days after NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio and the NYPD held a press conference on Staten Island announcing a crackdown on dirt bikes and ATV’s which are illegal on city streets.
The bike driver praised the cop in a social media post, saying, “This was a huge first step to bridging the gap between us.”
